Full job description

About ELRU:

The Early Learning Resource Unit (ELRU) is an established and pioneering Non-Profit Organisation operating in the Early Childhood Development (ECD) sector in South Africa. Founded in 1970 as a Trust and beginning formal operations in 1978, ELRU has spent more than four decades shaping the national early learning landscape. Over the years, ELRU has expanded its scope beyond traditional early childhood education to encompass a comprehensive offering that addresses the full continuum of care, education, and community development.

ELRU’s work spans centre-based Early Learning Programmes (ELPs), family- and community-centred interventions, youth development, capacity building, research, and advocacy. This approach allows us to operate at the intersection of practice, research, and systems, primarily focused on equipping practitioners, caregivers, and communities to best support the child.

The Centre Development Facilitator supports Early Learning Programmes (ELPs) in achieving and maintaining compliance with registration and quality standards. In this role, the CDF guides ELPs through norms and standards, minimum safety standards, and conducts quality assurance processes.

The CDF will also coordinate infrastructure improvements with strategic partners and lead MEL assessments to track and strengthen ELP performance. Working alongside Club Coaches, the facilitator provides centre-level operational and compliance support that complements the programme and practitioner development delivered by the coaching function.
