Job Purpose:

To support the efficient operation of the warehouse by ensuring that all stock is received, stored, picked, packed, and dispatched accurately and in good condition. The Warehouse Assistant plays a vital role in maintaining inventory accuracy and ensuring timely supply to both stores and online customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, unload, inspect, and store incoming stock deliveries.
• Pick, pack, and prepare orders for retail stores and online customers accurately and on time.
• Using warehouse management systems to track inventory, process orders and manage stock movements.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the warehouse, including stock shelves and packing stations.
• Perform regular stock counts and assist with inventory audits.
• Ensure products are handled and stored according to health, safety, and hygiene standards, especially for cosmetics and beauty products.
• Assist in managing stock rotation to minimise expired or damaged products.
• Follow company procedures for returns, damages, and stock discrepancies.
• Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts) safely, if certified.
• Work collaboratively with other warehouse team members and departments (e.g., store teams, customer service).
• Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Matric certificate or equivalent (essential)
• Higher Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management
• Relevant warehouse or logistics training (advantageous)

Experience:

• 0-6 months of experience in a warehouse, stockroom, or distribution role (preferably in retail, e-commerce, or FMCG).
• Handling skincare, cosmetics or fragile goods (advantageous).

Skills & Competencies:

• Good physical fitness; able to lift, move, and carry boxes safely.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable and punctual.

Working Conditions:

• Primarily based in a warehouse/distribution environment.
• May involve standing for extended periods and handling heavy boxes.

Other:

• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime when required.
• Forklift license (advantageous but not mandatory).
