Medical Practitioner

Zen-Sai Treatment, Recovery and Wellness Centre

Location: Durban, KwaZulu-Natal

Position: Medical Practitioner

Employment Type: Full-Time

Gross Salary: R80,000 per month

Estimated Net Salary: R57,000 per month

Working Hours: To be discussed during the interview

About Zen-Sai Treatment

Zen-Sai Treatment, Recovery and Wellness Centre is a private treatment and rehabilitation facility committed to providing professional, compassionate and patient-centred care to individuals requiring treatment for substance use disorders, addiction and associated healthcare needs.

We are seeking a suitably qualified and dedicated Medical Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary clinical team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive medical assessments on admission.
  • Perform routine medical reviews and ongoing clinical monitoring.
  • Assess and manage patients undergoing detoxification and withdrawal management.
  • Identify and manage general medical conditions.
  • Prescribe, review and monitor medication within the practitioner's scope of practice.
  • Monitor patients for medication-related side effects and adverse reactions.
  • Respond appropriately to changes in patients' medical conditions.
  • Provide medical input into individual treatment and recovery plans.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation.
  • Complete prescriptions, progress notes, referrals, discharge documentation and other required clinical records.
  • Work closely with nursing staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and clinical governance activities where required.
  • Refer or transfer patients to an appropriate medical facility when a higher level of care is required.
  • Support patient safety, infection prevention and control, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and professional standards at all times.

Minimum Requirements

  • MBChB or equivalent recognised medical qualification.
  • Current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner.
  • Valid and up-to-date HPCSA registration.
  • Good professional standing.
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
  • Professional, reliable and patient-centred approach.

Remuneration

Gross Salary: R80,000 per month

Estimated Net Salary: R57,000 per month

Working hours and roster requirements will be discussed during the interview.
