SENIOR SOUS CHEF NEEDED

We are looking for a Senior Sous Chef who is passionate, trained and proficient in the production of high quality food for a busy breakfast/lunch Middle Eastern Mediterranean restaurant in Cape Town CBD.

Experience and Requirements

· Applicant must have a culinary certificate or diploma.

· 4-5 years of working experience in a fast-paced restaurant of high standard.

· Driver’s license, or able to commute to Cape Town CBD

· Computer literacy – Microsoft Excel and Word

Responsibilities & Duties

· Ensure that all production of food is prepared to the required standards.

· Running the pass, plating, food quality control, food portion control.

· Take leadership and properly communicate orders with kitchen staff

· Managing all food stations and kitchen staff.

· Stock take, stock management and placing orders, receiving orders.

· Control food costs and minimize waste

· Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment.

· Work with executive chef to improve dishes and kitchen performance.

· Making sure food is cooked properly to the right temperature.

· Maintaining strict hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen.

· Assisting in cooking wherever needed.

Package

· R16’000-R18’000 depending on experience

· 6 Days / week

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: R16 000,00 - R18 000,00 per month

• High School (matric) (Preferred)

Experience:

• Sous Chef: 2 years (Preferred)

• Cape Town, Western Cape (Preferred)
