PEER NAVIGATOR
FIXED-TERM CONTRACT; 30 APRIL 2026

The Peer Navigator will be responsible for engaging and inviting men to participate in the U=U study in one of four facilities in the Mdantsane/Duncan Village area.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Communication skills (verbal and written)
- Fluency in IsiXhosa and or English and/or Afrikaans
- Previous participant recruitment experience
- Computer literacy (Ms Office)
- Ability to take initiative
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work with teams and independently
- Good planning and organizing
- Time management
Advantageous:
- 1 year work experience in a clinic or mobile clinic within the health or NGO sector
- Experience working with male adolescents and youth
- Data capturing work experience
- Basic knowledge of public health and community resources
- Able to assist with community meetings
Responsibilities:
- Recruit men at clinics for the U=U study
- Facilitate randomisation of participants by giving out appropriate messaging on the day
- Relate to participants in a friendly and non-judgmental manner
- Participate in staff meetings and appropriate training workshops as organized and required by the project
- Maintain research participant confidentiality
- Perform all activities according to Good Clinical Practice Standards
- Work in a consistently ethical manner
- Provide report back during weekly site meetings
- Communicate ongoing issues, concerns, successes to the Line Manager
