Professional Officer -District Spatial Planning

Requirements

  • A professional degree in Town Planning/City and Regional
Planning or Relevant B Degree

  • 2- 5 years relevant post-graduate experience, in the field of
town planning;

  • Working towards registration as a Professional Spatial Planner
  • Experience in assisting with the compilation of forward
planning frameworks and/or planning policy;

  • Experience in the field of land use management, including
compilation and/or assessment of land use applications;

  • GIS and Adobe Suite skills will be an advantage;
  • A valid Code EB driver’s licence
Key Performance Areas

  • Assist with the development of short to long term metropolitan,
district, local, site and/or sector-based plans/development

frameworks, strategies and policies/ guidelines ensuring that

it is appropriately integrated with other City strategies;

  • Provide spatial planning expertise and support to planning
districts and metropolitan spatial planning initiatives;

  • Commenting on, and preparing Land Use Applications;
  • Support processes relating to the preparation of spatial plans,
strategies, policies and guidelines; and

  • Facilitate the participation of relevant stakeholders in the
identification, development and adoption of spatial plans,

strategies, policies and guidelines
