Job Title: 1x Procurement Officer
Department: Procurement / Supply Chain
Location: Centurion, Gauteng

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Qualifications:

· A Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, or a related field.

· Professional certification (e.g., CIPS or equivalent) will be an added advantage.

· Drivers licence (code B)

Experience:

· A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a procurement role

· Experience within the cleaning, facilities management, or FMCG sectors. Experience in the mining environment is advantageous.

· Experience purchasing cleaning chemicals, consumables, equipment, operational supplies.

· Proficient in Microsoft Excel and procurement/ERP systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Procurement and Sourcing

  • Source, evaluate, and select suppliers for cleaning chemicals, janitorial paper products, plastic liners, equipment spares, and protective wear.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to achieve maximum value for the company.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders in accordance with approved budgets and operational requirements.
  • Continuously research market trends and new products to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Inventory and Warehouse Management

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure optimal stock levels at the central warehouse to meet site demands.
  • Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Monitor consumption patterns and adjust reorder levels accordingly to minimise wastage and obsolescence.
  • Coordinate with site managers to forecast material requirements.

Supplier Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong, professional relationships with key suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance with regard to delivery time, product quality, and after-sales support.

· Address and resolve any supply-related issues, including returns, damages, or short deliveries.

Fleet and Equipment

· Maintain a comprehensive database of all cleaning equipment and machinery.

· Track equipment age, maintenance schedules, and repair histories.

· Coordinate with service providers for repairs and servicing to minimise downtime.

Reporting and Administration

· Prepare monthly procurement reports detailing expenditure, cost savings, and budget variances.

· Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and financial authorisation limits.

· Assist with the annual procurement budget preparation.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

· Strong working knowledge of procurement principles, inventory control, and supplier evaluation.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis).

· Experience working with an ERP or inventory management system.

· Sound understanding of chemical handling, safety data sheets (SDS), and cleaning equipment.
