Professional Electrical Engineer jobs

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or BTech in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years' post-qualification experience in the mining, heavy industrial, or construction sectors.
• Experience within a gold mining environment will be a distinct advantage.
• Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist will be advantageous.
• Sound knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA), Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), and relevant engineering standards.
• Demonstrated project management and contractor management experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and relevant engineering software.
• Valid South African driver's licence.
• English is the official TGME language, and the candidate must be proficient in speaking and writing it.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide engineering expertise and support to mining and processing operations.
• Ensure engineering activities comply with legal, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
• Plan, execute, and manage capital and operational projects.
• Conduct engineering inspections, risk assessments, and technical investigations.
• Develop and review engineering designs, specifications, and reports.
• Manage contractors and service providers to ensure project objectives are achieved.
• Support operational teams in improving plant reliability, equipment performance, and infrastructure integrity.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and cost-effective engineering solutions.

A competitive market-related remuneration package will be offered based on qualifications, experience, and suitability for the role.
