Summary of The Position: The Feasibility Associate (FA) will assist the Commercial Strategy and Operations team to determine clinical researchers’ and research sites’ interest in and capacity for hosting upcoming clinical trials. The FA will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a database of clinical research sites on five continents (North and South America, Asia, Africa, Europe). S/he will conduct outreach to clinical research sites to determine investigators’ interest in and capacity for hosting specific clinical trials. S/he will communicate with Total Trials clinical operations personnel to gain insight into the quality of sites currently engaged by Total Trials. With team members and subject matter experts, the FA will assess the feasibility of using specific sites for specific future clinical studies.

Essential Functions:

• Maintains database through consistent communication with clinical operations staff and site staff
• Communicates with clinical sites globally to determine their interest in partnering with Total Trials for future clinical trials
• Parses study protocols, synopses and requests for proposals to determine Sponsors’ needs regarding locations for specific, proposed clinical trials
• Conducts literature reviews and internet searches focused on epidemiological data, regulations, and ethical requirements for clinical research
• Communicates with clinical sites and Total Trials operational staff to determine given sites’ capacity for hosting specific clinical trials
• Discusses findings with feasibility team members and subject matter experts to recommend sites where research should be conducted

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Understands the roles of clinical sites, Clinical Research Organizations (CROs), and sponsors in the medical research process.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to work professionally and effectively, both independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite of applications.
• Demonstrates strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Possesses a solid understanding of basic health concepts, including body systems, disease classifications, and related topics.
• Deep understanding of the landscape of the clinical research ecosystem and the role of both clinical research organizations and clinical sites in research (phase 1 through 4 clinical trials) is a plus.
• Knowledge of or experience in database design is an advantage.

Position Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree/diploma related to clinical research, global health, epidemiology, health informatics and analytics, or a similar field is required.

Job-related Experience:

Experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Experience with clinical and/or observational public health research

Experience building and maintaining databases

Experience using Salesforce or similar relationship management databases

Experience and/or education in global health epidemiology

Experience reading protocols, synopses or other research planning documents

Preferred Job-related Experience:

Experience building databases within Salesforce

Experience in a clinical research organization and/or monitoring clinical research at site level

Experience in community health and/or coursework placing epidemiology within the community/social/economic environment

Experience developing proposals and/or requests for proposals related to research

Ability to read and understand French, Spanish, or any African language

Physical Expectations:

Typical office environment.

Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.

Ability to lift or move 5-15 lbs. or 2.26 – 6.8kg.

Travel Requirements: Expected travel time is 10% for this position.
