Full job description

SALARY: R17 000K per month excluding incentives, petrol and car allowance. Non negotiable.

The Area Manager is responsible for the overall operational and financial performance of a designated region. This role focuses on driving consistency across multiple stores, strengthening team capability, and delivering sustainable sales and profit growth. The position requires strong leadership, sound judgement, and the ability to support and guide store leadership teams effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the recruitment, onboarding, and development of store management teams within the region.
  • Provide hands-on support and strategic guidance to Store Managers to address operational challenges and improve performance.
  • Track sales performance and implement initiatives to achieve and exceed quarterly targets.
  • Optimise expenses by managing staffing schedules, stock levels, and overall cost control.
  • Conduct regular store visits to assess operational standards, visual merchandising, cleanliness, and service delivery.
  • Complete structured store audits during visits, identifying gaps and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Oversee stock control processes, including regular stock counts and adherence to inventory procedures.
  • Ensure consistent application of company policies, operational standards, and communication across all stores.
  • Drive a culture focused on improving revenue, profitability, and overall business performance.
  • Maintain strict compliance with stock handling and cash management procedures to minimise risk and loss.

Requirements & Experience

  • 5–10 years’ experience in an Area or Multi-Site Management role within retail
  • Proven track record of managing multiple stores and teams, with measurable impact on sales and profitability
  • Strong leadership and team development experience
  • Solid understanding of retail operations, stock control, and financial management
  • Experience in clothing or fashion retail is advantageous
  • Clear criminal record
  • Verifiable references
  • Successful completion of background screening (including MIE checks)

Pay: R10 455,43 - R17 000,00 per month
