Restaurant Function jobs

Grand Africa Cafe & Beach a High Volume Restaurant and Function Venue are seeking experienced and disciplined Junior Floor Managers to join our team on a seasonal fixed term basis within which they have the opportunity to make themselves indispensable to the Team.

What you’ll do

• Run shifts on the floor, opening and closing the restaurant and keeping service smooth.
• Assist, lead, motivate and coach waiters, runners.
• Work closely with the kitchen and bar to keep standards high during busy services and functions
• Handle guest feedback and complaints professionally, on the spot
• Do table touches, interact with guests and ensure guests needs are anticipated and exceeded.
• Cash-up waiters and Barmen.
• Make sure health, safety and company standards are always met

What we’re looking for

• Honesty, reliability, integrity and good work ethic.
• Clear Criminal record and contactable references.
• Matric (a hospitality qualification is an advantage)
• At least 1 to 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or junior management role in a busy restaurant
• Energy and enthusiasm and a uncompromising CAN-DO attitude.
• Computer literate
• Comfortable with Micros/POS and reservation systems (Dineplan is a plus)
• Flexible and reliable: you can work weekends, public holidays and evening shifts
• Neat, calm under pressure, and passionate about hospitality
