Restaurant Head jobs

We are looking for a professional and experienced Head of Service Waiter/Waitress to join our luxury safari lodge team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily restaurant service operations and managing two waitresses to ensure exceptional guest experiences at all times. The ideal applicant must have a strong personality, excellent leadership abilities, and a professional approach to service and team management.

As this is a live-in position, you will be joining a safari family environment and becoming part of a close-knit hospitality team. The position operates on a 3 weeks on / 1 week off rotation.

Requirements:

• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Extensive knowledge of restaurant service standards and procedures
• Good general knowledge of bar service, beverages, cocktails, spirits, and wine
• Ability to work professionally under pressure in a high-standard luxury environment
• Excellent communication and guest interaction skills
• Well-presented, reliable, and detail-oriented
• Ability to train, guide, and motivate junior staff members

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate daily restaurant service
• Lead and support the waitressing team
• Ensure high standards of guest service and professionalism
• Assist guests with menu, wine, and beverage recommendations
• Work closely with management and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
• Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and service excellence throughout service periods

This position is suited to someone who is confident, service-driven, organised, and passionate about luxury hospitality and the safari industry.

Pay: R5 500,00 - R8 000,00 per month
