Restaurant Cashier (GAAP POS Experience Required)

F2FFood company in Kyalami is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented and customer-focused Restaurant Cashier to join our team. The successful candidate will process food and beverage orders, manage guest payments and reconcile daily sales using the GAAP POS system.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately capture dine-in, takeaway and delivery orders on the GAAP POS system.
• Process cash, card, SnapScan and account payments securely and efficiently.
• Handle split bills and management-authorised voids, refunds and discounts.
• Verify opening and closing floats, complete daily cash-ups and reconcile takings against GAAP reports.
• Generate cash-up summaries, tip sheets and X/Z reports.
• Welcome guests, answer menu and pricing questions, and resolve billing queries professionally.
• Take telephone orders and coordinate collections.
• Communicate special dietary requirements and order changes to the kitchen and waitstaff.
• Report till discrepancies and POS system issues to the Restaurant Manager promptly.
• Keep the cashier station and payment equipment clean and organised.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric/Grade 12 or an equivalent hospitality or retail qualification.
• At least 1–2 years of cashier or restaurant front-of-house experience.
• Hands-on GAAP POS experience is essential, including opening and closing floats, generating X/Z reports and processing accounts.
• Strong numerical skills and accuracy when handling payments.
• Good English communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure in a busy restaurant.
• Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, public holidays and late evenings.
