Job Title: Front of House Manager

Reports To: General Manager

Job Summary: The Front of House Manager at SOTR is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the front of house, ensuring an exceptional dining experience for guests. This includes managing the staff, creating a welcoming atmosphere, maintaining high service standards, and collaborating with kitchen and management teams to deliver a seamless operation. The Front of House Manager plays a crucial role in achieving guest satisfaction, maintaining operational efficiency, and driving overall restaurant success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Staff Management and Training:
  • Lead, motivate, and supervise front-of-house staff (waiters, runners, hosts, bartenders, etc.), ensuring consistent high service standards.
  • Train and onboard new employees, providing ongoing coaching and development.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Manage employee schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • Guest Relations:
  • Ensure all guests are greeted promptly, treated with respect, and receive an exceptional dining experience.
  • Resolve guest complaints and issues in a professional and efficient manner, striving for guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain a strong relationship with repeat customers and handle VIP guests with care.
  • Operational Management:
  • Oversee daily operations of the dining room and bar areas to ensure smooth service and cleanliness.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food service.
  • Financial Management:
  • Must be able to do cash ups, handling with petty cash when needed.
  • Monitor daily sales and report any discrepancies.
  • Process payments.
  • Event Planning and Execution:
  • Coordinate special events, private parties, and reservations, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
  • Work with the marketing team to promote events, ensuring proper preparation and guest satisfaction.
  • Supervise event staff and ensure seamless execution.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
  • Foster effective communication between front-of-house and back-of-house teams to ensure efficient operations.
  • Provide input to the General Manager for strategy development and operational improvements.
  • Attend regular staff meetings to ensure alignment on restaurant goals and performance.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Front of House Manager or similar role in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with grace and professionalism.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with MICROS systems and Dineplan.
  • Knowledge of food safety and health regulations.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • A passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to think fast when situations accures.
  • Ability to move quickly through a crowded environment.

This role would be crucial in ensuring the front-of-house operations run smoothly, efficiently, and provide an exceptional guest experience at SOTR.
