Cooper Casings is looking for a for a high-performing Sales Representative to join our passionate team. This person will need to drive sales growth and manage relationships in the Mpumalanga area. The ideal candidate will have experience in FMCG and specifically in the butchery industry sales. We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, thrives on organisation and coordination, and is motivated by delivering results on the ground.

About the company

Copcas – a South African sausage casing supplier – was founded in 2002 with a mission to produce high quality sausage casings from local abattoirs. The idea was born out of the frustration of using inferior imported products.

Since being established, the sausage casing factory in Marlboro, Johannesburg – (now in Sebenza, Edenvale) has produced both hog casings and sheep casings which are cleaned, selected, measured and salted daily under strict quality control measures.

Due to the superb quality and efficient service we deliver to our customers, Copcas has grown over the years to be one of the leading sausage casing suppliers in South Africa.
Initially we only cleaned and supplied hog casings and sheep casings, but now we also supply a top range of spices and other food ingredients to the butchery and restaurant trade.

Job Description

• Sales Target Achievement - Achievement of Weekly and Monthly Sales/ Gross Profit Targets as set by Management
• Plan how to achieve sales targets for each of the customers within the sales territory.
• Plan to achieve daily sales targets
• Analyse territory sales performance by product and formulate plans to counteract opposition activities.
• Plan territory calls as per call cycle (time utilization)
• Identify new business opportunities and alternative sales opportunities within territory and formulate sales objectives.
• Plan for high level of Customer Service
• Plan promotional activity
• Feedback to managers re opportunities.
• Sales Activities:
• Negotiate order within given and approved parameters
• Execute promotional activities and liaise with Sales Manager if necessary.
• Discuss sales performance (purchasing) and issues with customers
• Establishing market shares in Mpumalanga area
• Build and maintain customer relationships
• Continuous reporting on market conditions and sales
• Monthly meetings to report on activity
• Current and new business growth

Desired Experience & Qualifications

• Experience in sales
• Experience in the meat industry - BENEFICIAL
• Food safety knowledge - BENEFICIAL
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Proven record of good customer relations, service, and closing deals
• Driver’s License

This role is based in Mpumalanga, and preference will be given to candidates currently residing in or near the area.

Basic Salary: R14,000.00 + Commission
