Help our cooks bring the whole table together.

Kasi Harvest is looking for reliable, energetic Kitchen Assistants to work alongside our home cooks at customer bookings.

While the cook concentrates on making great food, your job is to help keep the kitchen moving.

What you'll help with

Your responsibilities may include:

• Washing vegetables
• Peeling vegetables
• Chopping ingredients
• Preparing ingredients
• Getting ingredients ready for the cook
• Organising the cooking area
• Assisting the cook as required
• Washing pots
• Washing cooking utensils
• Keeping work surfaces clean
• Keeping the kitchen organised during cooking
• Helping clean the cooking area after the food has been prepared

Important: this is NOT general domestic cleaning

This is a Kitchen Assistant role.

You are there specifically to support the cook and the cooking process.

You will not be expected to clean the customer's bedrooms, bathrooms or entire house.

Your responsibilities relate specifically to food preparation, cooking support and kitchen clean-up associated with the Kasi Harvest booking.

Previous experience in a kitchen, restaurant, food preparation or events is helpful, but not essential.

Shifts & availability

Bookings can happen during the week and on weekends.

Shifts may be in the morning, during the day, afternoon or evening.

There may also be Sunday and public-holiday bookings.

You tell us when you're available.

There are no fixed weekly hours.

Pay

Approximately R350–R500 per booking/shift.

Pay is per booking/shift, not per hour.

A typical shift is approximately 6–8 hours, although this may vary depending on the booking.

Longer or larger bookings may pay more.

You'll know the location, expected hours, responsibilities and payment before accepting the shift.

Transport

Bookings take place at customers' homes around Johannesburg and surrounding areas.

Transport arrangements/support will be communicated before you accept each booking, so you know what is covered.
