Barman – Full Time

Folk Café – St James

We’re looking for a passionate, skilled Barman to join our team at Folk Café. This is a full-time role for someone who knows their way around a busy bar, loves crafting quality coffee, cocktails and wine experiences, and keeps operations smooth and efficient.

Key responsibilities:

• Expert coffee extraction and thorough knowledge of espresso equipment
• Cocktail preparation, ingredient knowledge, and confident service
• Solid understanding of local wines and pairings
• Oversee bar stock, ordering, and tight stock control
• Operate and manage POS with accuracy
• Ensure bar is set up for opening and properly closed down after service
• Maintain a clean, organised and welcoming bar area
• Lead by example and support the front-of-house team

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a barista and barman, ideally in a similar restaurant setting
• Excellent stock management and ordering track record
• Confident with POS and daily cash-ups
• Must reside locally and have reliable transport
• Must be able to work both opening and closing shifts, including weekends
• Valid South African ID only – applications without this will not be considered

Pay: R6 500,00 - R11 000,00 per month
