Job Title: Solo Online Operations Manager / Burger Chef
Location: Midrand Gauteng

About Us

We are a fast-growing American-style smash burger joint known for our crispy edges, juicy patties, curly fries and bold flavors. We are launching a brand-new online delivery channel to bring our burgers directly to our customers' doors. We are looking for a resilient, self-sufficient individual to build this channel from the ground up.

The Role

This is a solo mission. You will be the sole person responsible for managing our Uber Eats site and all incoming online orders. For 12 hours a day, 6 days a week, you will run the show. While this is a new venture for us and will start off slow, we need someone who can maintain high standards even when it's quiet, and who has the stamina to handle the rush when we inevitably go viral.

This is not just a "cooking" job; it is an all rounder role: You will be responsible for the kitchen, the equipment, the packing, and the customer satisfaction of our digital storefront.

Key Responsibilities

• Food Preparation & Cooking: Prep ingredients and cook smash burgers to order according to our strict recipe standards.
• Order Management: Monitor the Uber Eats tablet and other online ordering systems. Accurately pick, pack, and dispatch orders to delivery drivers.
• Inventory Control: Manage stock levels; notify management when supplies are running low.
• Sanitation: Maintain a spotless kitchen. Follow all health and safety protocols, including proper food storage, temperature checks, and cleaning schedules.
• Solo Problem Solving: Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and handle any order discrepancies or customer complaints relayed via the app.
• Quality Control: Ensure that every burger that leaves the kitchen looks as good as it tastes.

Requirements (Must-Haves)

• Food Experience: You must have previous experience working in a commercial kitchen (fast food, restaurant, or catering).
• Local Resident: You must live within Midrand to ensure reliable transport and punctuality.
• Health & Safety Savvy: You have a strong understanding of food hygiene standards (e.g., Food Safety Level 1 or 2) and can enforce them without supervision.
• Stamina & Independence: You are comfortable working completely alone for long shifts and can keep yourself busy during the quieter periods.
• Hardworking & Growth Mindset: You are willing to scrub the floors just as hard as you flip the burgers, and you are excited to grow with the business as we expand.

The Schedule

• Hours: 12-hour shifts (e.g., 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM).
• Days: 6 days per week (1 day off).
• Note on Start-Up: Please be aware that this is a new venture. The first few weeks will be slow. We are looking for someone who uses this "down time" to perfect their prep, deep clean, and get ready for the boom, rather than someone who gets bored easily.
