About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Retail Store Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our store. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales performance, managing staff, ensuring operational excellence, maintaining high customer service standards, and achieving business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all daily store operations.
  • Lead, motivate, coach, and develop store employees.
  • Drive sales growth and ensure the achievement of store targets.
  • Monitor and analyse sales performance and implement strategies to improve results.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service standards are consistently maintained.
  • Manage staff scheduling, attendance, and performance.
  • Conduct employee training, performance reviews, and disciplinary processes where required.
  • Monitor stock levels, stock movements, and inventory control processes.
  • Ensure accurate cash handling, and reconciliation procedures.
  • Maintain store merchandising, cleanliness, and presentation standards.
  • Investigate and address stock losses, shrinkage, and operational risks.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and health and safety requirements.
  • Prepare and submit operational, sales, and stock-related reports.
  • Resolve customer complaints and operational issues effectively and professionally.
  • Support the implementation of promotions, marketing initiatives, and business improvement strategies.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a retail management position.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales and operational targets.
  • Strong leadership and people management experience.
  • Experience managing staff performance, training, and development.
  • Sound understanding of stock control, cash management, and retail operations.
  • Computer literacy, including experience with point-of-sale and reporting systems.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work weekends, public holidays, and retail trading hours when required.
