Job Title: Robotic Welding Operator (Yaskawa / Motoman)
Location: Pretoria
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Shift: Day Shift
Position OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Robotic Welding Operator for our sheet metal manufacturing facility.
You will set up, operate, and monitor Yaskawa/Motoman robotic welding cells to produce high-quality precision sheet metal components.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Yaskawa/Motoman robotic welding cells safely.
- Load and unload sheet metal parts into fixtures.
- Call up existing welding programs on the pendant.
- Perform minor programming touch-ups and edits.
- Inspect finished welds visually for quality defects.
- Grind or touch up welds manually if needed.
- Conduct basic daily preventative maintenance on robots.
- Change welding wire, tips, and nozzles regularly.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years operating Yaskawa/Motoman robots.
- Industry: Background in precision sheet metal manufacturing preferred.
- Technical: Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols.
- Tools: Proficiency using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Knowledge: Understanding of thin-gauge MIG/TIG welding processes.
- Physical: Ability to lift up to 20kg regularly.
