About the roleWe are looking for a passionate, hardworking and reliable Chef to join our kitchen team at our seafood restaurant. The successful candidate should have a strong interest in seafood, good kitchen discipline and the ability to work efficiently in a busy service environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook seafood, fish, shellfish and other menu items to a high standard
Follow recipes, portion sizes and plating standards
Maintain consistency and quality during busy services
Complete daily preparation and mise en place
Keep the kitchen, equipment and workstations clean and organised
Follow food safety and hygiene procedures
Assist with stock control, receiving and proper food storage
Minimise food waste and maintain good food-cost practices
Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team
Communicate effectively during service
Assist with menu preparation and new dish development when required

Requirements

Previous professional kitchen experience
Seafood experience is an advantage
Good knife skills and basic cooking techniques
Ability to work under pressure
Reliable, punctual and hardworking
Good teamwork and communication
Strong attention to detail
Clean and organised approach to work
Ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays

Pay: R4 898,25 - R6 000,00 per month
