We are excited to welcome a skilled and experienced Software Tester to our dynamic Development Team. The ideal candidate will bring strong core competencies, as detailed below, to enhance our team’s ability to support both new and ongoing development projects. With our business growing rapidly and an expanding client base, we’re eager to onboard a seasoned tester who can help us consistently meet increasing demands with exceptional technical quality. This role offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of quality assurance initiatives, contributing significantly to both the stability and innovation of our software solutions. The successful candidate will demonstrate not only technical expertise but also a proactive approach to identifying potential issues early, ensuring that our products exceed client expectations in functionality, performance, and reliability. Joining our team means becoming part of a collaborative environment where your insight and attention to detail will directly impact the success of our development lifecycle.
This role has a salary range of between 280,000 - 450,000 (ZAR) annually.
Key Responsibilities
- Thoroughly test developed web applications against specified requirements across a variety of desktop browsers and mobile devices, ensuring cross-platform compatibility and a seamless user experience across different environments.
- Diligently record, monitor, and manage defects to ensure clarity, traceability, and timely resolution, while maintaining clear communication with development teams and stakeholders.
- Create and maintain comprehensive manual test documentation, including test plans, test cases, step-by-step test scenarios, manual test scripts, and defect reports to support repeatability and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Collaborate closely with developers and stakeholders to resolve issues effectively, provide clear feedback, and participate in defect triage meetings to prioritise issues based on impact and urgency.
- Track test progress in line with release schedules, prioritising workloads efficiently to meet deadlines without compromising quality or thoroughness.
- Review test environments, test coverage, and manual QA processes to support continuous improvement and uphold high-quality standards.
- Support project planning by providing accurate estimates for manual testing efforts, helping ensure realistic timelines and timely delivery of high-quality software products.
Requirements
Essential Skills
- At least 2 years’ experience in Manual QA, including testing web-based applications, cross-browser functional testing, and strong familiarity with bug tracking and reporting applications.

- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to support effective web application testing and defect reporting.
- Working knowledge of BDD-style acceptance criteria and test scenario writing.
- Strong MS Office skills, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, to support test planning, reporting, and documentation.
- Ability to think quickly, adapt under pressure, and manage tight deadlines effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to work closely with developers, stakeholders, and wider project teams.
Desirable skills:
- Experience working within an Agile team
- Equally adept at working on both PC and Mac
- ISEB/ISTQB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing
