Full job description

Purpose:

The Golf Operations Attendant is responsible for supporting the efficient daily operations of Steenberg Golf Club. This role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service to members and guests, maintaining a professional and welcoming environment, ensuring the smooth flow of play on the course, and assisting the operations team in providing a premium golf experience.

Experience and Requirements:

  • Previous experience in golf operations, marshalling, or a similar hospitality/service position is preferred.
  • Being an active golfer and having a good understanding of the game is an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage positively with members, guests, and colleagues.
  • Excellent customer service orientation with a friendly, professional, and approachable demeanor.
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and operate a golf cart safely in accordance with club policies.
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity, punctuality, and reliability.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and adapt to varying operational needs, including working weekends and public holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent service to members and guests at all times.
  • Assist with daily setup and closing of golf operations, including the staging area, carts, and driving range.
  • Marshal the golf course to monitor pace of play and ensure adherence to course etiquette and club rules.
  • Support the golf shop team with guest check-ins, tee time coordination, and general operations when required.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of golf carts, equipment, and work areas.
  • Assist with golf events and tournaments as part of the operations team.
  • Monitor and report any course or equipment issues, safety hazards, or maintenance needs promptly to the Operations Supervisor.
