About the Job:
Do you have a passion for African wildlife and a keen eye for detail? Join our team as a Wildlife Camera Monitor, where you’ll play a key role in capturing stunning wildlife moments from the heart of the African bushveld. In this exciting part-time position, you’ll monitor over 50 online wildlife cameras, ensuring we capture the best scenes of African wildlife and share them with the world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor over 50 wildlife cameras positioned throughout the African bushveld.
  • Record and alert the team whenever significant animal activity is detected, ensuring key moments are captured for future sharing.
  • Troubleshoot any technical issues with cameras or footage to ensure smooth operation.
  • Ensure that all cameras are functioning properly and provide feedback to help improve the monitoring system.
  • Take initiative in improving the efficiency of camera monitoring processes and capturing the best wildlife moments

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong computer skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to recognise interesting wildlife behaviour.
  • A genuine passion for African wildlife.
  • Able to work independently while being a positive, supportive team member.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and a good problem solver.
  • An interest in wildlife photography, videography, or conservation is an advantage but not essential.

Working Hours
This is a part-time position based in our Observatory, Cape Town office.

We're looking for someone who can work:

  • Three weekday afternoon shifts, and
  • Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

This flexible schedule makes the role ideal for students, recent graduates, or anyone looking for part-time work. Training will be conducted initially weekday afternoons, Mon-Fri. Weekend shifts will only start following completion of the probation period.
