Full job description

We are seeking a motivated Junior Legal Consultant to provide legal research, regulatory, and commercial advisory support across energy and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret legislation, review and draft commercial contracts, support regulatory compliance, and contribute to project delivery. Exposure to energy, environmental, commercial law, or project finance is advantageous, along with a client-focused approach and excellent communication skills.

What you'll do:
  • Legal Research & Advisory
    • Conduct focused legal research and prepare concise, well‑reasoned memoranda on energy, environmental, commercial, and regulatory matters.
    • Assist with interpreting legislation, license conditions, and regulatory frameworks applicable to energy.
    • Support senior consultants in preparing client opinions and advisory notes.
    • Track policy and regulatory developments across the energy sector.
    • Advantageous: Provide preliminary input on project finance concepts including lender requirements, financing structures, and risk allocation (under supervision).
  • Contract Drafting & Review
    • Draft, review, and assist with negotiations of project‑related agreements including EPC, O&M, PPA, land rights, professional services agreements, and NDAs.
    • Ensure contract terms reflect client interests, compliance requirements, and project risk considerations.
    • Support procurement processes and bid reviews.
    • Advantageous: Exposure to project finance documents such as direct agreements, security packages, and financing term sheets.
  • Regulatory & Compliance Support
    • Assist with license, permit, and regulatory submissions to relevant authorities.
    • Coordinate and support legal due diligence processes.
    • Maintain compliance trackers, regulatory updates, and legal documentation.
    • Assist in reviewing environmental, planning, and land use conditions applicable to projects.
  • Project and Client Support
    • Provide legal support to project teams, identifying risks and proposing practical solutions.
    • Attend client meetings, draft action items, and ensure follow‑ups are completed.
    • Support project documentation, contract administration, and CP management.
    • Advantageous: Understanding of project finance CP schedules, lender milestones, and transaction timelines.
  • Internal Support and Knowledge Management
  • Assist in maintaining legal precedents, templates, and knowledge‑sharing materials.
  • Support preparation of proposals and client‑facing documents.
  • Manage documentation repositories with strong version control.
Your Expertise:
  • 0–2 years’ experience in a legal or advisory environment.
  • Exposure to energy, infrastructure, environmental, or commercial law is advantageous.
  • Preferable but not required: Introductory knowledge of project finance, infrastructure financing, or PPP (Public-Private Partnership) environments.
  • Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to interpret legislation and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong communication and client‑service orientation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and document management tools.
  • Advantageous: Basic understanding of project finance principles, risk allocation, and legal‑commercial interfaces.
Qualifications:
  • LLB or equivalent legal qualification.
  • Admission as an Attorney or progress toward admission
