Job Purpose:

To provide transportation support for Distribution Centre (DC) deliveries that extend beyond normal operating hours, ensuring that day-shift drivers are relieved from overtime duties. The Night Shift Code 10 Driver will also perform general duties as part of the night shift operation when no overtime - related staff transport is required.

Key Responsibilities:

Overtime Relief Operations

• Monitor and respond to instructions regarding overtime DC deliveries.
• Travel to the designated DC or delivery location using the company staff transport vehicle when required.
• Relieve day-shift drivers whose delivery routes are expected to exceed normal working hours.
• Take over driving responsibilities and complete the remainder of the delivery route safely and efficiently.
• Return vehicles, goods, and documentation to the appropriate location upon completion of deliveries.
• Ensure seamless handover between day-shift and night-shift drivers.
• Participate in standard night-shift activities (TBD by warehouse management).
• Report vehicle defects, incidents, or maintenance requirements.

Compliance and Safety

• Operate company vehicles in accordance with all road traffic regulations.
• Ensure safe transportation of goods and company assets.
• Maintain valid driver's licence and PDP at all times.
• Comply with company health and safety policies.
• Complete all delivery and transport documentation accurately.

Minimum Requirements

• Valid Code 10 Driver's Licence.
• Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a delivery or logistics environment.
• Good knowledge of local routes, DC requirements, and road regulations.
• Ability to work permanent night shifts.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.

Working Hours

• Night Shift: 17:00 – 05:00 (or as determined by operational requirements).
• Required to be available for overtime-relief transport duties when scheduled.

• On-time completion of deliveries.

• Vehicle safety and compliance standards.

• Attendance and punctuality.
