Mining operation (production) – Conduct daily entry examinations, risk assessments, marking off support and Identify the reef band and mark the face as per geological reports, and charge up the faceplan and coordinate mine activities in line with targets and objectives and stick to a workable productive mining cycle

Personal Management and Crew control – Supervision of team and management of performance

Communication of mining plans and allocation of responsibilities to the crew

Hands-on from day one, Miner will operate mining equipment, assist with blasting operations and collect, log, and transport geological samples to the laboratory, maintaining chain for a mining operation on the East Rand , Gauteng.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate emergency response procedures including fire drills, evacuation exercises, and first aid response for mine emergency preparedness.
• Ensure all mining activities comply with the Mine Health and Safety Act and the company's safety policies and procedures.
• Assist with blasting operations including transport, handling, and charging of explosives under certified supervision.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly production and safety reports detailing achievements, incidents, and concerns.
• Supervise mining crew activities to ensure production is carried out according to the mining plan within approved safety parameters.
• Monitor ventilation, ground conditions, and environmental factors continuously to ensure a safe underground working environment.

Requirements

• Blasting roles, a valid blasting certificate and experience in handling and use of explosives in a mining environment.
• Thorough knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act and relevant regulations governing mining operations in South Africa.
• As a Supervisory roles, a Mine Overseer's Certificate of Competency or Shift Boss Certificate from the relevant mining authority.
• Geology roles, a bachelor's degree in geology or geoscience and experience with geological modelling and sampling software.
• A commitment to safety and the ability to work according to strict procedures and protocols without taking shortcuts.
• Physical fitness to work in demanding conditions including confined spaces, heights, and variable temperatures.
• A minimum of three to five years of experience in the mining industry with specific experience in the relevant mining method.

Pay: R20 000,00 - R45 000,00 per month
