About Us

Naoero Medical Centre is the primary healthcare facility serving the Republic of Nauru. We are committed to providing high-quality healthcare services and are seeking an experienced and dedicated Podiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team.

Position Summary

The Podiatrist will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, treating, and preventing conditions affecting the feet, ankles, and lower limbs. The successful candidate will play a key role in diabetic foot care, wound management, biomechanical assessments, and patient education while working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage foot, ankle, and lower limb conditions.
  • Provide diabetic foot screening, ulcer prevention, and wound care management.
  • Perform biomechanical assessments and gait analysis.
  • Prescribe and fit orthotics and off-loading devices as appropriate.
  • Treat nail and skin disorders, including ingrown toenails, corns, and calluses.
  • Develop individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans.
  • Educate patients on foot health, injury prevention, and diabetes-related foot care.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Podiatry.
  • Current registration/licensure as a Podiatrist in home country or recognized jurisdiction.
  • Minimum 3 years of post-qualification clinical experience.
  • Experience in diabetic foot care and wound management is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote island healthcare setting.
