A place to work
Consultant (Current Employee) - Sandton - 12 July 2022
Good place to start career, progression is tricky. Make sure you have good networks to not get stuck. Putting your head down won't guarantee success, you need to know people.

Stressful environment
Relationship banker (Former Employee) - Gauteng - 17 June 2022
Very stressful and biased leaders. No growth potential unless you a candidate of EE. Not fair to all staff. Over work existing experienced staff because roles are filled as a result of EE and not skills needed for business growth. Wasted 2years at his organization. Culture is night and day compared to at the beginning of my career. Not a healthy environment.
Cons
Overworked to carry other EE candidates that are not carrying their weight.

Caring and supportive organisation
BANKER (Former Employee) - Transactional Business Banker - 8 June 2022
Absa was one best Corporate Company I ever worked for. The employer respect and look well after their employees in all areas. Development is the key in the company. It is very easy and fair to climb the ladder inside the company. Management is always supportive of career growth and development.

Marketing Executive (Former Employee) - Lusaka - 11 May 2022
A multicultural environment; full of diversity and inclusion. The people are warm and exciting! Absa supports brainwave ideas and rewards hard workers. Absa believes in values that aim to bring out who they are as a brand that cares for its customers both external and internal.
Pros
Gym, subsidy on cafeteria
Cons
Short breaks, limited healthcare benefits. E.g they wont pay for your braces....

I think Absa should consider rehiring their previously retrenched staff because they have experience
Customer Relations Officer (Former Employee) - towers west - 24 April 2022
fun to work at absa, however job security is an issue. It is a good company with good company policies. I think Absa should consider rehiring their previously retrenched staff because they have experience

Great company to work for if you are in the right segment
Credit Analyst (Former Employee) - Century City, Western Cape - 3 March 2022
Great place, flexibility on work life balance. Also nice packages on salary but for internal moves salary increase is constrained. No transparency on salary scales easy to be underpaid

Fast paced
Call Centre Agent (Outbound) (Former Employee) - Waltloo - 30 January 2022
The only thing they can change is to give internal stuff more opportunities unlike looking for new staff that need to be trained first rather prioritize uplifting internal stâff

Good place to start your career
Credit Analyst (Former Employee) - Durban, KwaZulu-Natal - 18 November 2021
A great company to start a career. It’s very fast-paced and you get to deal with a variety of different people - both good and bad. It’s a highly competitive work environment that can easily be interpreted as toxic but it does prepare you for anything and everything. Definitely teaches one to be thick-skinned while also giving great exposure to different technical subject matter.
Pros
Learning opportunity
Cons
Stif/ cut-throat work environment
