Competition of ABSA Guru I love it it taught me know my product and other department.
TELLER (Former Employee) - Bloemfontein, Free State - 24 November 2022
Before we worked hard the was long que payment too little. In provement now yes ,client serve them self no more long que. Management never recognise employees who worked extra mile, e.g. working with pick staff never got employed but they work hard. Too much protective of permanent staff than pick staff. Enjoyable moment reaching sales target, learning new things every day.

I have gained a vast amount of knowledge while being in Absa employ
Forensic Investigator (Former Employee) - Bloemfontein, Free State - 27 June 2017
Investigating fraud within the bank and also for Absa clients.
It is interesting and I enjoyed my work.
I had the opportunity to travel in South Africa, to perform investigations.
The challenge which we faced in the last three years was the change of management every six months. This had an impact on the work environment.
I enjoyed the investigations and the satisfaction of obtaining a criminal conviction.
I always aimed to leave things better than what I found them.
Pros
work indenpendently
Cons
limited growth

Team Performer
Specialist Manager Tellers (Current Employee) - Bloemfontein, FS - 20 February 2015
A Typical day at work - Capacity issues that needs to be dealt with, ex when an employee calls in sick. Handeling customer complaints/queries. Having 2 agencies under my control, have its own challenges. Ensuring productivity and excellent customer service.
Ensuring tellers balances on a daily basis.
Ensuring competency levels by ensuring that the necessary training is completed.
Motivation of staff to ensure a well balanced and happy team.
What I learned is that you need your team, you can't deliver on the targets if you dont have their commitment 100%. Therefore they need motivation and celabration constantly.
You need to be strict and adhere to policies and procedures, it also ensure best results on the team performance.
Hardest part of the job would be customer complaints on capacity and you know that it is really beyond your control.
Enjoyable part would be when targets are achieved, happy customers, quick flowing queues.

This is an interesting and challenging occupation and grows in interest and content in an excellent environment.
Manager Consumers (Former Employee) - Bloemfontein, FS - 30 January 2014
Day starts with administration - leave, personnel problems etc; then listing of items in the collections for GRAP 103 followed by identifying and acquisitioning new items in the collection; then follows the answering of HO and other queries from external clients; then reading for research and writing articles.
I attend all internal Management meetings including Risk, Audit, HR and am in charge of the Research done at the museum.
My co-workers are interesting and intelligent and therefore challenging.
The hardest part of the job is not getting bogged down in mundane administrative work and leaving sufficient time for meaningful research.
Without a doubt the subject matter and writing about it.
Pros
Good benefits, excellent surroundings in a residential wooded area, the work varies day to day, you work as hard as you demand of yourself.
Cons
Worst is the non-market related and excessively low salaries.
