High stress environment
Sales Administrator (Former Employee) - Johannesburg, Gauteng - 11 March 2020
This is an extremely high stress environment. They don't look after staff or respect that staff have lives outside of work. It's especially hard for mothers to work here because they have no understanding or empathy what so ever. They will tell you once you work for them you sign your time away.
The salary is also very low for the work and hours expected.

I had a great experience at amrod and I really enjoyed working there. It was an honor to work at amrod, even though my salary was not that much but it helped a lot.

I was never happy the way the supervisor was treating me.
packer (Current Employee) - Johannesburg, Gauteng - 4 January 2020
You have to work on a fast pace and always pick up heavy boxes. You need to work near the heating machine. Chemicals inhaling. And most of all the is no tea time. You always on your feet the whole time. There's no sitting down

Nonsense place to work at
Customer Care TLC officer (Current Employee) - Johannesburg, Gauteng - 23 August 2018
Worst job I've ever had, people are always getting fired for stupid things, management makes staff feel scared all the time, managers have no empathy at all, guilty until proven innocent and fake open door policy
Pros

Good Managers but favoritism kills
Sales Administrator (Current Employee) - Johannesburg North, Gauteng - 13 February 2017
Unfortunately color matters, people of color will work hard,be qualified and more experienced, willing to learn, however being of a different race will be to your disadvantage.
Two great sales managers, but structure very questionable.
Pros
provident fund
Cons
not being given equal chances as the Caucasian employees

Productivity and work environment
Junior Graphic Designer (Former Employee) - Johannesburg, GP - 9 July 2015
Doing Mailers, designing posters and working on the anual catalogue. I learned handy skills for working on a Mac and on the latest Adobe Suit. Time management is key because of the amount of work expected daily. Keeping to deadline is a must.
Pros
Free coffee
Cons
Poor working environment: lacks creativity

Extremely Busy
Showroom co-ordinator (Former Employee) - Johannesburg, GP - 3 March 2014
My typical day was usually unpredictable as we dealt with clients and it's different people with different characteristics. Sometimes we would deal with unfriendly people who would belittle employers and yet management would not consider standing up for employers. I learned to be strong and do my work as best as i could and to grow a thick skin. The hardest part was learning to amend the showroom during the busy season as clients would come flocking in the showroom after the Markex exhibition while we need to put new products up and never getting a pat on the back for a job we-ll done. The company was not understanding when it came to helping or encouraging employers to study .
Pros
company benefits, provident fund
