Great for Engineers
Civil Designer (Former Employee) - Kansas City, MO - 26 November 2023
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedBurns & McDonnell is a great company to work for if you’re an Engineer. All other occupations feel like second class citizens; limited ceilings for growth. The ESOP is great and is really the only plus, once fully invested after 6 years.

Unorganized/Incompetent/Inexperienced Project Management
Start-up Supervisor/Manager (Former Employee) - Kentucky - 29 November 2023
Good people, but very young and inexperienced project leads (Engineers, etc.) on construction side. As they continue to take on bigger projects, experienced management would beneficial for both Construction and Commissioning side of Projects

Young employees but boring work
Environmental Compliance Specialist (Former Employee) - Chicago, IL - 26 October 2023
Great atmosphere with lots of young talent. However they are all about making sure your billable and I wouldn't work here if you don't like sitting in an office.

Good company
Electrical Technician (Current Employee) - Remote - 20 October 2023
The company has a clear hierarchy, and pay is around or just below fair market price, but is adjusted by yearly bonuses. Overall, it is a great company but could slightly improve.

Wonderful people questionable work life balance
Intern (Former Employee) - Houston, TX - 31 August 2023
Everyone there was super helpful and willing to help me learn. However the work life balance was not great. I would work around 45-50 hours/week. Low starting salaries too.

Pay structure
Project Manager (Current Employee) - Houston, TX - 25 August 2023
It's really hard to keep up with bills and mortgage because you have to wait until the end of the year to get your bonus that is not guarantied, so if you have a tight budget do not join BMCD

If you want to find a king term place to call home, this is not it!
Project Assistant (Former Employee) - Kansas City, MO - 23 August 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? The culture is awful. The training is non existent and the people are rude! The pay is below average and they try and sell you on their employee owned nonsense and subpar benefit package. Bonuses are a complete disappointment. There are many other companies who will pay you what you are worth, keep looking. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The lack of training and the cliques of mean girls. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Cliquey. Very hard to establish relationships in the office and some are just plain rude! What is a typical day like for you at the company? Over worked and way underpaid.

Good but may be too traditional
Good in where it counts the most, very well run company financially and some smart coworkers. Bonus heavy compensation package, but the bonus is a black box. It's not even disclosed if your individual performance matters. ESOP is excellent if you stay long enough. Traditional culture in terms of it's weak WFH and parental leave policy, and the low base salary is tough in a high cost of living city.

A great place with a team driven mentality
Assistant Electrical Engineer (Current Employee) - Wallingford, CT - 14 August 2023
Working here currently and am apart of a great knowledgable team. Being an entry level engineer for a year, the workload isnt too much but workload is definitely an issue for higher positions. Overall great place with lots of knowledge obtained along the way. Beautiful office too. Training could be better as it cant be done done during billable hours. Wish more budget was incorporated for training employees so they dont have to spend extra time trying to figure somethings out

Good if you're not a contract worker
Assistant Environmental Scientist (Former Employee) - Phoenix, AZ - 11 August 2023
Learned a lot. Traveled too much. Kept me as a contract worker for longer than a year after being told it would be less than a year. Also, transitioning to employee-owner came with a paycut during a time of high inflation.

Easy going and uncompetitive
Project Accountant (Current Employee) - Kansas City, MO - 10 August 2023
The engineering/revenue-generating side of the Company may be relatively intense and competitive, but the accounting/business side of it is not. I’ve had a great experience thus far and have stellar WLB. My one complaint would be that the 30 day “WFH bank” is pretty slim. As an employee-owned company, there should be employee votes on policies like this, in my opinion.

Waste of time
Project Controls Specialist (Current Employee) - Brea, CA - 8 August 2023
Hard to move up, bonuses not based on performance but on time with company. Can’t help but feel you’re paid peanuts so senior management can make a fortune in dividends.

Good Place to work
Accounting Assistant (Former Employee) - Kansas City, MO - 2 August 2023
A good start to a career, a great place to have on your resume. Could be hard to move up so make sure to go outside the box. a well-known ESOP program.

Corporate vibe but great team
Environmental Engineering Intern (Current Employee) - Denver, CO - 28 July 2023
The work is meaningful and the team is nice. Since it is a big company you have to deal with those impacts but is a stable situation. They pay well for an intern too

Poor pay structure
Assistant Civil Engineer (Former Employee) - Houston, TX - 9 June 2023
The pay is fairly low since their pay structure is based on a back loaded bonus model. Wages will not compare to competitors unless you have successfully worked the entire year which then you pray for a good bonus to bring you to atleast market value.
