Great training for the position hired for.
Account Executive (Former Employee) - Pasadena, CA - 4 December 2023
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedEach office is run on an individual basis so, each office may be run differently depending on management. I personally hated this job, it caused more stress and anxiety that looking back I should have gone out on disability, instead I left after 3 years and never looked back. I believe it was that particular office environment, so you just never know what you may get. Overall, I loved the position and the training that I received in the beginning, I was very equipped for the job and for sales outside the job.

Good company but it’s very hard to grow no matter your standings
Manager (Current Employee) - Chicago, IL - 4 December 2023
Good company overall. As with most organization's You have some high caliber leaders and some that could use some fine tuning if you will. Company has some good benefits and solid stability. But lack of transparency can be concerning. Also the difficulty of moving up even if you are in really good standings. Upward movement is limited and not sure if it’s any one persons fault but can be frustrating if you are driven.

An absolute waste of potential
Operations (Former Employee) - Kansas City, MO - 30 November 2023
Management has no idea what they are doing at any given time. It seems like they are in a race to the bottom, and dragging their employees down with them. Change is a good thing, but not when it's every 20 minutes and dependent on the current mood of someone in middle-management trying to "make their mark" by running every department they can into the ground. It is inconsistent, the raises are insulting, and office morale is reminiscent of a sinking ship.

Fun people, boring job once you know what you are doing
Global Forwarding Agent (Current Employee) - Cleveland, OH - 6 November 2023
Everyone that works for CHR is top notch and I have enjoyed working with all of my colleagues. The only problem is that once you figure out how to do the job, being a GFA gets boring FAST. You do the same thing every day and it never really changes much. I also feel like there is no upward mobility, only lateral. Once you become a GFA, you are stuck in that role until a supervisor spot opens up once every 10 years.

Fun workplace
Customer Account Representative (Current Employee) - Minneapolis, MN - 3 November 2023
Good work environment, decent pay and generous PTO. I like working for CH but find the internal promotional process takes a long time…aside from that, not too many negatives besides sometimes poor management depending on your position.

Not enough structure
Operations Representative/Coordinator (Former Employee) - Remote - 31 October 2023
Inconsistent annual goals that aren’t created until at least half way through the year. No opportunities to promote within because they have been laying off people regardless of performance but appears to be related to time spent in position (not time at company as a whole). Company speaks highly of annual pay raises and bonuses, however raises are extremely minimal (often $1 maximum) and goals are structured so 100% bonuses are hard to obtain with individual work unable to directly impact.
Pros
Good PTO accrual
Cons
Can be a toxic workplace environment solely dependent on account team, cannot move up or make more money

Standard Corporate Nonsense
Account Specialist (Former Employee) - Eden Prairie, MN - 27 October 2023
The position lacked upward mobility and there was a lack of empathy for the staff. The management was not very flexible and all aspects of the job needed to be executed by corporate policy rather than what worked best for the team and it’s members.

Laid back, fun environment. There’s opportunity for promotion within this company.
Warehouse Inventory Specialist (Former Employee) - Indianapolis, IN - 20 October 2023
My team is responsible for the count and correct labeling of products. Making adjustments and scraping products if necessary. I had an amazing boss one of the best and my GM was just as amazing. I wouldn’t say it’s the hardest, but the more challenging end of this position is learning to drive equipment and becoming certified. I am enjoying learning all the things I needed to to do my job sufficiently!
Pros
The general manager will do cookouts for the warehouse during the warmer months, they work with you if you have personal things going on, you receive benefits after 30 days of being employed eye, dental and health
Cons
The pay rate is lower than most in the same field

Culture
Carrier Sales Representative (Current Employee) - Eden Prairie, MN - 18 October 2023
CH is a great place to work at - management values you - and provides you with opportunities to succeed if you put the work in. Culture is also a plus: co-workers understand the environment and try their best to make this as fun and inclusive as possible!

Great benefits but low pay and declining culture
Operations Supervisor (Former Employee) - Eden Prairie, MN - 18 October 2023
The thing about this large company is that there are so many branches and their is no consistency in their policies. Work life balance is great in some branches and terrible in others. The benefits are great. The PTO is awesome as well as insurance and 401K match.
Pros
Healthcare and benefits, hybrid schedule for some people, lots of events and lunches.
Cons
Inconsistent expectations, "good old boys club" very difficult to advance if you are not part of the in crowd. Low pay.

Beurocratic
Global Forwarding Coordinator (Current Employee) - Southfield, MI - 16 October 2023
Southfield office grew too large too fast and became a mess. The culture is very much a “yes” is the only the answer. Management is all take and no give. You have to drink all of the kool aid to fit in.
Pros
Benefits
Cons
Pay

Lack of direction and execution
Sr. Project Manager (Former Employee) - Eden Prairie, MN - 12 October 2023
The IT department continues to struggle in-between finding the right CTO and President. Serious layoffs of people who have been here 10 - 20 years. Lacks culture and diversity.
