Branch Manager in Mpumalanga highveld
on 19 January 2023
Favoritism takes lead
Capitec bank for an employer is a great company to work for especially at junior positions. Service consultants are given preference thus get away with everything while branch managers are not given any support yet are expected to deliver on results. This causes toxicity because as a manager in branch you don't directly do the selling to clients but give support to the consultants, a manager is expected to take corrective action where consultants don't deliver and there's evidence that training was provided however whenever the corrective action escalates to discipline then the branch manager doesn't get the necessary support from their line managers instead are being told we are incompetent as a result consultants take advantage since they can get away with the misconduct and let the manager take a fall for no results.

Less opportunities to grow
It is a nice place to work in, but less chances to grow. For instance you can stay as a BBC for a long time even though you have the relevant qualifications.

Productive
It was has been nice working at Capitec bank beside some few elements that makes it very unpleasant to work. Working hours are okay. But we work even the weekend.

Long hours, less pay but learn alot
Each day brings its own challenges. There is a lot of products to sell and hours are long. As a service consultant, all you do is drive sales each day
SERVICE CONSULTANT in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga

Highly targeted driven with long hours.
It's a heavy load of work and no time for family or anything personal. I would only recommend it to young people who haven't started a family. It's stressful.
