enrolled nurse in Johannesburg, Gauteng
on 13 August 2018
productivity at work
A typical day at paeds section begins at 6:45@m,with an overcrowded, small ward with staff shortage,it all begins with taking of hand over reports,so that you know all your patients and what to expect. As an enrolled nurse, you start preparing the medicine trolley, assist if there are kids who have not bathed or given food, make sure that the drips are running well and that the patients and parents are okay and at ease. Workplace becomes a nightmare if theres no group work and support especially from managent, you can feel all depressed without necessary motivation and support because the demands are too much especially for enrolld nurses, they always work harder than all other categories, always willing to learn more and push boundaries. The sadest reality about the working hours is that you never get to see your family but seing patients that you treat everyday getting better makes all the hard times worth it.

Very academic in nature
I started working here as an intern. I believe that I was able to learn the fundamentals of my profession. It was challenging but worth it. The management style as not the best.
