Reviews for Learning and Development Facilitator at City of Cape Town

Productive and exciting

As an Epwp worker we had to facilitate in different areas, which made working interesting as it was a different setting after a programme is done. i had extensive knowledge on facilitation in my fieldwork practice as a student, but i gained more knowledge and skills in these programmes. the people in the office were very friendly during our training and they accommodated us as best as they could. There wasn't necessarily a hard part about the job and the enjoyable part was interacting with children from different backgrounds and equipping them with knowledge and seeing how eager they were to grasp the information given to them.

Very Productive

Working for the City of Cape Town was quiet an exciting period for me. A typical at work required travelling to the various Depots conducting and facilitating skills audit questionnaires of various employees in different directorates. I learned a lot about the various Directorates within the Municipality as a whole, and not only that but, I got the chance to interact with the employees and generally talk about their career aspirations and so forth. The Human resources Department afforded us the opportunity to learn more about its daily operations, afforded us the chance to help out with Recruitment & Selection, this was quiet interesting.(I see myself advancing my studies in this field). My co-workers were generally easy to get along with, but of course got the ones that were not as nice. You learn to put your emotions aside and put the 'business needs' first. I loved spending my time at work, it was a pleasurable learning experience that i would not trade for nothing! I made new friends:)

Pros

The travelling

Cons

Odd hours
