Very generous salaries for Quality. Well respected among the community - a place where you can truly help to make the world a better place. Charitable contributions, public health missions, great research opportunities, GRAD SCHOOL TUITION ASSISTANCE!!! They also offer scholarships to your children. Work is meaningful and helps me to sleep better at night. Company store offers deep discounts on Colgate-Palmolive products. A neat thing about Colgate Tennessee is we all wear the same uniforms from the very top to the newest employee in production - everyone is treated with respect and equal. Honestly I can’t express how glad I am to work at Colgate.
Great insurance, highly competitive pay for hired hourly and salaried employees, company store is great and offers HUGE savings, making a difference in the world, public health, and being a truly valued employee.
As a salaried employee in the lab I often stay longer than 8 hours, but it is difficult to find qualified biologist and chemist so we do what we must, but we are all happy to be where we are.
They make you sign off on SOP which they don’t teach you hands on. They stack finish goods out in the hall where pedistrian people walk. Some emergency doors are blocked with boxes in warehouse. In shipping / reciving don’t get breaks when the other person is out they never come to give you breaks. Sometimes they call you in early or have you to stay over if you don’t show you get a point
all the workers there are extremely friendly, but management doesnt care about the temps. lots of harassment, lots of "voluntary" overtime that's actually mandatory, if you're there, the only people that'll help you in any way are the people out on the floor. there are some pros tho, easy job, decent pay, pretty lax on the sanitary side and ppe aspect which is frankly disgusting (management wont do anything), and great coworkers. some cons are, management very unprofessional, toxic work environment, extremely boring, 3rd shift will just leave the place a mess and have 1st shift clean up after them, and overall just low standards create an environment that discourages people putting in an effort to have standards and just giving into their quantity over quality mindset. it can, and will, drain the life out of you.
I enjoy my job but it's hard to pay the bill's on $10/hr. The working environment is ok as I tend to get along with anybody. Colgate like myself is all about getting the product out as efficiently as possible with safety a priority.
Great place to work pay is okay but tempting through sucks get laid off after 9 months then you gotta keep re applying, hard to get hired full time without and inside friend
Great job, easy, good pay (full time)
Ask to much of temps, can't have overtime
Great benefits. The only downfall is the safety in the workplace. They only worry about accidents when they happen. The women are treated as less smart and bypassed when trying to find out something. They will go to a man and ask him even if he has less experience. Management makes it a stressful place to work.
Some departments they only wanted 6 people when we had a team of 10.. There's a lot of down time.. If you come in for over time of there wasn't a blue shirt to watch you then you got sent home.. It used to be a good place to work but there's no room for advancing unless you are a Colgate employee...
Some of the best workers around are at Colgate, unfortunately the high quality of employees are overahadowed by poor management. Either newly hired directly out of college kids or Colgate robots that are doing what they have to too move up the cooperate ladder. Good benefits and paid time off. If you can keep your head on the floor and avoid the management staff it's a great place to work.
Worked as a chemist in Colgate-Palmolive. Assisted the facility and lab manager in setting up the new facility at Morristown. Performed sample analysis to ensure the samples are in accordance with FDA standards. Collected Microbiological samples for raw materials. Assisted lab manager in creating new SOP’s
Awesome benefits, and knowledgeable employees. Great place to start a career. Very clean work environment, with climate control, and a lingering hint of minty freshness.
Awesome benefits, and educational opportunities
Advancement within the company will take a while.
Management is unpredictable and inconsistent. Employees are abused and bullied. Human resources is a joke when complaints are filed by employees. Human resources play favorites to any employee that will drop a dime on other employees.
treats hourly employees like garbage
Pay is pretty good considering there isn't much expected other than showing up. Hourly workers are all paid the same (except warehouse, who are paid a few dollars less, and Tech Techs, who are paid a few dollars more). So, a new hire, makes exactly the same as someone who has been there 10 years. Great for the new hire, not so great for the experienced person. So, you get paid the same, whether you bust your tail, or do nothing all shift. So what kind of culture do you think that breeds? Management is horrible. Don't worry, they only stick around for a couple of years, then they move on or quit. Colgate Morristown is a revolving door for management trainees. Some come in and try to make a difference, and are promptly shut down. Others come in and simply do their time and try not to make waves. Everything is an illusion at Colgate. Quality, Safety, Environment, Work-Life balance. All is made out to be top notch, but in reality it is all just lip service. This facility is the most unprofessional place I have ever worked. It is laughable that it continues to run and Colgate still makes million$ from this factory. All that being said, if you can stand to be a part of a mediocre workforce with horrendous management, and do little to no work, for pretty decent pay ($18+/hr) then this is the place for you.
Pay, benefits, vacation, company store, climate controlled
management, forced overtime, lazy coworkers, incompetent and uncaring supervisors
Management is lacking, its a training facility for managers and corporate people. management always coming and going. the operators suffer and production suffers because they train the management basically. they hire "Managers" from college with no experience and expect workers to train them and do their (operator) job also.
I’m going to lay this out as plain and honest as I can. As a current Kelly service employee at Colgate-Palmolive, my job is to inspect parts as they are created and loaded onto lines to be filled with toothpaste. The machines are extremely fast, so much that I find running one line to be stressful, and lots of times, I run three or four lines which is nearly unbearable. None of the other full-time Colgate-Palmolive employees will dare to help you as you run back and forth, struggling to keep the lines going. Those employees either play on their phones or walk around with their hands in their pockets. The shift team leader over Kelly employees (who also is a Kelly employee), is quite possibly the laziest person there who constantly has a problem with everyone, the “drama queen,” if you will. Management in general is absolutely ridiculous; they do not enforce the rules. A very, very horrible place to work and I do not recommend unless you cannot find a job anywhere else.
Most people are nice.
Extremely fast. Short breaks. Lack of assistance. Terrible management.
good pay and benefits but management is poor. do not care about their employees. you are just a number and easily replaced. coworkers were good for the most part. no advancement. if you weren't an engineer you were looked down upon.
good pay and benefits, good breaks
culture is poor, morale is low, management is a joke, HR doesnt care about employee issues
