Enjoyable workplace

My supervisor and Deputy Director are super amazing people to be working with. They are very supportive and understanding. They understand the kind of pressure that we experience when executing our duties

This was my home away from homer. I just loved all my co workers and respected each and everyone of them.

I loved working at the Department of Labour. This was my home away from home. Although we were all different race and colour, we got on very well. I made new friends and we respected each others believes, and cultures.Although I am not working there anymore, I still have friends that I see from time to time.

Pros

Housing Allowance, Provident Fund

Stressful non-supportive work environment

Poor work ETHIC, junior officials are left to do as they please. Lack of respect for one another by fellow managers and EXECUTIVES. No support for implementing transformational initiatives. Competition and a ting to be seen to be doing good at the expense of other managers is the order of the day. Seniors see you as a threat to their position.

Pros

Job security

Cons

Emotionally draining environment

It was really exciting working for the department of labor. I get to experienced working hand in hand and directly with the Directors and the DD's.

The department has exciting opportunities like working directly with the office of the CFO and also working out of office for litigation purposes or court consultations with Advocates. It gives vast exposure towards keeping the employees more equipped and excel while performing their daily duties.

Clients Services

The work was very challenging where you have to deal with diverse clients seeking employment benefits. Financial management skill is the key to overall operations, you have to be cautious when its comes to capturing of data and authorizing payments. Statistics is the key to your performance assessments, you win by ensuring that you provide correct numbers all the time.
