Reviews for Risk Manager at Department of Labour

Challenging, yet enlightening environment

Work starts at 7:30 and ends at 16:00. I am responsible for ensuring that that all Sheltered Employment Factory's Risk related systems are in place. Currently I am busy reviewing the previously identified risk and assisting the SEF Management with identifying emerging rirsk that would be escalated to the Risk Register and thereafter monitored. I travel to the nine provinces to fulfill this. I am currently supervising one co - worker. The hardest part of my job is getting management buy - in on issues of Risk Management because some managers still do not understand the importance of risk management and how it will benefit them. Further more, having to rely on others to provide me with information in order to fulfill my job or responsibilities. The enjoyable part of my job is engaging stakeholders and sharing risk information with them. One gets to know and understand the business or company she works better and can be productive and be an asset to the company.
