Poor management and Leadership

Don't judge the book by it cover... the company looks fancy on the out side but it dead full of dead people walking 🚶. Management seems like they are lost don't know what they are doing. Leadership as a concept it a foreign language. You can work there at you own risk, because you peace of mind will be disturbed

Poor Culture and Salary

Standards have dropped massively. Company is just in constant damage control. Constant pay cuts with no increases. Rotten from top to bottom. Job description changed from when I started with no pay change. Management do not care about employees. This company will suck you dry

Staff training is rare.

Staff do not have support from HR and therefore get mistreated by management. The exploitation of salary is disappointing. Some earn way more than they should and others are below minimum wage. The application criteria are aimed high but in the workplace, the staff is given more work than they can handle.Staff turnover is poor.

Pros

Higher education work experience

Cons

No benefits or support of your personal life

Stay away

Stay Away. Work conditions are deplorable. Staff leave and their work gets dumped on others with no remuneration. No support from National office. You are often tasked with work that isn't even part of your job description/in your department. Salaries cut and covid blamed. They put you in debt. Sanitary conditions on campus are disgusting (no soap, toilet paper, bleach). General lack of resources (paper, toner) no internet. Staff are expected to tolerate rudeness from students and parents - no support from management. No benefits, medical, pension. You'd have to be really desperate to work here! Because you will have no help from head office or management on site.

Pros

none

Cons

Unfair conditions, ridiculous expectations, lack of support, not market related pay

Horrible Place to work

The Management in this place is absolutely horrible and most of them don't even know their jobs. they make ridiculous demands. they definitely not a good place to work, as they will look at every opportunity to make your life as miserable as possible. Collections Manager came only two months and made so much changes. during a time of covid, we all are forced to go and sit in one canteen, making agents sit a little too close to each other, they dont want you eating at your tables, when its the safest place to do so, definitely ain't bothered about your health & definitely not worth the stress, anxiety and depression they put their employees through. they give you more jobs to do with no room to grow. they take people from out of the Company than people in the Company for any available positions.

Pros

None

Cons

low salary. long hours, working on saturdays with no extra pay, feels like a weight on your shoulders working here, they dont give you a right to speak, horrible team leaders who aint bothered about their teams, treats employees as if they are in primary school. too much more to say about this company.

Abusive and toxic work environment

People leave this place because of their mental health issues. Nervous breakdowns, low pay, toxic management and the worst investment in people in general. This place will break your spirit and passion for career growth.

Terrible really

New managment in the collections aspect of the company is herendess, they dont consider their employees any longer, always hiring new staff because people are always resigning due to the simple fact that there is no salary increase,no benefits, and hard work is unfortunately not recognized by new Managment and to make matters worse its either his way or the highway!

Cons

Forced to work 1 Saturday a month which is unpaid

Exploitation

There are absolutely no benefits to working for this company. No growth, no bonuses, no gratitude. You will just be exploited for your skills and be told it's a "fast-paced" environment when management assigns unreasonable deadlines. People come and go within the company, leaving most people lost and having to do work that is not in their job descriptions without compensation.

Pros

You'll have a job.

Cons

Short-time will be introduced but you'll work the same hours as before short-time, lunch breaks are 30 mins at most, Management will change work hours and flexible hours as they deem fit, There's no structure, No Medical Aid, No Bonuses, No option to work from home even though it is possible.

Bad experience

I worked for Educor for 2 years and Damelin for 3 years. The company has very poor communication. The salary is not enough for the work they expect you to do.During the covid pandemic there was no job security and upper management threaten staff. Their deadlines were unrealistic and they constantly looked for ways not to pay us.

Pros

Nothing

Cons

Everything

Overworked, under paid, nepotism along with bad management

I do not recommend anyone to work at Educor. They exploit staff with low salaries where you have no time for your personal life. Not to mention working so hard in a toxic environment. There is lots of nepotism going on so you can never advance unless you know someone or you have to be available 24/7 as they need you. They retrenched so many people and a few months later posts were advertised to hire new people.

Pros

None

Cons

Long hours, underpaid, bad management

Highly stressful environment where the pay does not match the amount of work you are assigned

A typical day at work involves a morning staff meeting where the AM and GM communicate the tasks/responsibilities expected of the staff for that day.I learned to function well under pressure and effectively manage my time to get ahead of the work. The workplace culture is such that there is a rift between staff on campuses in different cities. Instead of working together, staff on one campus always tries to undermine and patronize the other campus. There is a high turnover of staff because of the low pay and no benefits attached to any of the positions. Irrespective of your performance or achievements, salaries are not increased annually. The hardest part of the job is being forced to take on the work of 2/3 people at a time and not being paid appropriately. The most enjoyable part of the job is being a part of developing the workforce of tomorrow through the students of today.

Pros

Staff development

Cons

Poor pay, no benefits, working overtime with no compensation

Overworked & Underpaid

When people resign, get dismissed, or anything like that, you end up doing their job without an increase, you'll have 5 different job descriptions with the same salary you came in with. No benefits. Management are just people in a high position, none of them are leaders. It's a sad shame.

Pros

Growth and Experience

Cons

Unworthy Salaries & Pathetic Management

One of the things that demotivate staff is security and bad salaries

I appreciate Educor for giving me a job but I sometimes don't get what I worked for. I help in many things besides my position in my department ,no recognition.

good working place

everything is great and the working environment is awesome, including the stuff members. facilities are at the best. its becomes a challenge though if we experience load shading.

Pros

free water

Cons

part time

Salary

The Salary that is offered through this company is not enough to get you through the month. Overworked and underpaid, that should put it clearly out there that this should maybe help if you’re straight out of high school and looking for experience

Avoid at all costs

One of the worst companies I ever worked for. Unskilled management favoured people who spied on other employees for them, cover up of mistakes that cost the company. Any employee who raised issues were victimised and threatened with being fired. The marketing manager was selling educor ideas to rival companies along with the head of copy. The racism is another issue.

slow paced

there is no staff retention, the company does not care about their employees well being. there's a lot of changes on the ground and there a lack of communication and understanding of how the head office works with regards to their system

Pros

none

Cons

lack of resources
