No communication around managment decisions and no engagement with employees
Credit Controller (Former Employee) - Johannesburg, Gauteng - 30 July 2018
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedI am a person who believes in transparency and honesty. I also prefer direct management providing feedback when it comes to over performance. At ERM culture was different. Management is not prepared to teach and develop their team, it was only a certain few that were promoted and trained.
The hardest part of my job was taking on new tasks, whereby no training was provided...which I did manage to see through.
The most enjoyable part of my job, was the challenges I face and seeing them through.
Pros
Nice People
Cons
Managment

Does not support and train junior consultants/analysts
Junior Environmental Consultant (Former Employee) - Cape Town, Western Cape - 23 July 2023
It is quite a toxic work environment. Interns receive no on-the-job training but are expected to be billable every week. This sets interns up for failure and there is a lot of humiliating/bullying when a mistake occurs.
Pros
Gain exposure from different kinds of project work from different industries
Cons
implied overtime without compensation is normalized, racist work environment, slow upward mobility

Zero job security
Junior Consultant (Former Employee) - Durban, KwaZulu-Natal - 23 March 2016
Zero job security, even for those consultants working on a permanent contract basis. Management is narrow minded and cannot see the bigger picture.
Pros
Good work space conditions
Cons
Poor management skill of senior employees

ERM is a good company to work for if you're a consultant.
Receprtionis/Admin Support (Current Employee) - Cape Town, WC - 24 April 2015
A regular day at work is very interactive and Involved.
I've learned alot and have been happy to work for ERM for the last year and four months.
The hardest part for me in my day or experience at ERM and the main reason I'd like to leave is. I dont like the being confound to my desk and cannot move to even go to the rest room without requesting permission to do so.
The most enjoyable part of my job is talking to the people around me.
Pros
Pro - Medical Aid

Con - Paid for 100% By me
