I do not recommend working here. To much politics and clicks. There is no appreciation for the work that you do. You will be stabbed in the back on a split second. There is no leadership at all. Staff are very disrespectful. We are nurses not babysitters. Save yourself from all this and chose a better company to work for.
I worked nights and it was a fairly laid back work environment. One downside is that there was always gossip and personal information being shared about the staff, some of it coming from supervisors. I did my job and went home. I ignored anything that wasn't necessary to do my job.
Pay, 12 hour shifts
Nursing department is consistently short staffed, with CNAs working half staffed, and nurses working doubles to fill coverage. The compassion and competency of current DNS is lacking, but there is high management turn over, so may not be a problem when you apply. As a nurse, expect 20-27 patients, many high acuity (at one point I had 6 diabetics, one TPN, three tube feed, multiple daily dressing changes, plus endless PRN med passes. Then COVID hit, and had to do daily screening and vitals on all my patients as well)
Decent pay, kind administrator
Overworked, poor team work, pressured to work overtime
Pay & benefitsMy pay and benefits at Genesis HealthCare are above average for the location.Job security and advancementIn terms of job security at Genesis HealthCare, I think my point is secure.CultureCollaboration with my colleagues at Genesis

Is Indeed your favorite place to learn about companies?
The time I spent employed at a Genesis facility in North Conway was not good. Always understaffed and stressed out. I felt like I had 3 jobs there and got paid for 1. Management was not supportive at all. The company does not give raises to staff. I'm not bitter at all...I'm just shocked at how bad it really is there. I do work in another Long Term Care facility and it is like night and day...clean, friendly, and teamwork are things that do exist in healthcare...just not Genesis...
no breaks, no staffing, no raises
This is a dual role, mainly infection control, plus house supervisor when called in on weekends. Don't believe that it is only one position. Expect to do many roles. GHC will "train"you with a zillion ZOOM sessions, and you will have to figure out how and when to get your work done, during the workday, or get called to come back in to do an "in-service". Learn everything you can about infection control and covid 19, because that's what the job really is. Statistics and line items. Good luck.
Adequate training via ZOOM. Computerized policies and procedures, from soup to nuts.
Misleading job description, and expectations.
Poor nursing staff, residents sit in overflowing diapers, they don't pay out PTO, residents sit in soiled linen, no protocols for covid, residents are neglected and abused, ignored, made fun of by staff. People code and staff just sits there on their phones stuffing their faces or playing on their phone. Urinals are placed on eating tables. Staff is condescending. Directors are vindictive if you voice concerns. The most inhumane treatment I've ever witnessed in my 10 years as a therapist.
neglected and abused residents, management looks the other way and denies everything.
Management dictates but provides no support. They talk down to staff members and are not concerned with morale at all. As a liaison I felt I could not ethically fulfill my job duties. Staff at the Louisville Genesis Centers do not provide adequate care to patients and patient outcomes are terrible. I was responsible for helping to fill beds at the centers. But I was always concerned about whether or not patients that were admitted would receive the care they needed.
Overtime without pay, terrible leadership, no management support, terrible reputation in the market, poor patient care and outcomes, low employee morale
Very high turnover rate. Lack of communication. Frequently there are no basic supplies. Also always lack of washcloths , towels or wipes for patient care. High demands on short staffing with no consideration from management. Hostile attitudes. Favoritism and cliques
Great place to work where they care abou tthe poeple they care for and the people who work for them!
Great place to work, where you know leadership cares about you as a person. It can be challenge work at times, but is for a great cause and is appreciated. This might fluctuate as bosses differ, but this is exactly how I feel!
Treats you well, flexible, appreciated work product
Could pay higher and the benefits are just OK
I worked with a great group of therapist, everyone gets along pretty well. They do have the same ridiculous productivity rates as other companies, but don't harass the therapist about occasional dips. Overall an enjoyable company
