Great people & culture
Great culture, friendly and kind people. High focus on marketing. I would like to see them invest more in the talent to deliver and realize they need to standardize processes.

I will never regret the decades I have spent at HDR.
Sr. Project Coordinator (Current Employee) - Omaha, NE - 15 November 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? My section feels like family, not co-workers. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Sometimes the delivery schedules can be very difficult. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? I think we are very inclusive and diversified. What is a typical day like for you at the company? We have fun while grinding out the work.

Productive and hardworking people
EIT (Current Employee) - Portland, OR - 7 November 2023
Colleagues are very knowledgeable and know what they’re talking about. There are many opportunities to work with others but growth is limited in the position.

Different Culture
Receptionist/Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) - Los Angeles, CA - 3 November 2023
Ridged environment. not everyone will be able to work in this kind of environment. But again, everyone is different. I was there for 8 months and was very micromanaging. They are very set in their own ways. Turn over rate

Good PM's and engineers but upper management tough to work with
Sr. Project Manager (Current Employee) - Boston, MA - 30 October 2023
Upper management is very detached to the staff completing the work. The engineers and PMs doing the day to day work are a pleasure to with with. And the projects are interesting.

The coworkers and benefits were a great plus to the work environment.
Right of Way Agent (Current Employee) - Rosemont, IL - 16 October 2023
My typical work day consist of emails and task and follow up. I was taught to multi task by handling the each task that was given to me by prioritizing and completing with satisfaction to the project and team. The most enjoyable part of my job is to see a project from start to finish with a success of making a company profit and a client happy.
Pros
The flexibility of working with others on different projects.

Average pay and good work/life balance

Need to evaluate their focus
Analyst (Former Employee) - Portland, OR - 9 October 2023
Difficult company to work for… the office maintenance manager has to review everything you bring into the office to make sure you’re not going against their “green” policies and contributing to waste. The accounting manager cannot handle their team and needs to reevaluate their position, HDR needs a high impact manager in this position.

Good overall place to work
Engineer (Current Employee) - San Antonio, tx - 7 October 2023
Good benefits. Generally happy with managers and staff. Pay is good, little to no bonuses. Work / Life balance can be an issue. Can be a lot of travel.

Productive and fun
Mechanical eit (Current Employee) - Portland, OR - 7 October 2023
Great work life balance and decent pay. Lots of smart individuals and great people but due to the pandemic company culture is slightly lacking. Will most likely take time

Charlotte office is cool
ITS ENGINEER (Former Employee) - Charlotte, NC - 13 September 2023
Charlotte office is cool. Benefits aren’t great. Compared to other companies they are behind. They push company “ownership” but it’s not like you’ll be getting a bonus if you deliver your project under budget.

Friendly and Welcoming
IT Support Specialist (Current Employee) - Austin, TX - 6 September 2023
Every HDR office I've traveled to has been so welcoming and friendly. Rude employees don't stand a chance here! From the highest ranking employees to the lowest, they are all great people to work around and be around.

Very bureaucratic and archaic organization that prohibits efficiency
Staff (Current Employee) - Colorado - 23 August 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Good benefits and organizational stability What is the most stressful part about working at the company? lack of support from upper level leadership, no overtime or bonus pay for administrative or supporting roles What is the work environment and culture like at the company? It can be a fun environment and close knit offices and teams, they offer a variety of group activities and office outings that promote teambuilding, though lacking in leadership attendance

Nice Place to Work
Project Controls Manager (Current Employee) - Walnut Creek, CA - 2 August 2023
Easy going atmosphere. Management trusts its employees to get the work done. Overall, A+ as far as employee ownership goes. Some PMs need training, as growth is what keeps its stock price high.

Great environment
Project Coordinator (Former Employee) - Fort Worth, TX - 26 July 2023
Great work environment. Opportunity for growth. Because it’s project driven, it can be stressful at times. Leadership does a good job with providing stress outlets.
