Work/life balance is great and the people are very laid back. The facility is old and the company is in the middle of a transition after being bought out by Global Foundries.
Utter lack of integrity among management. Toxic environment where solid engineering takes a back seat to cronyism and incompetence in management. Did I mention that the management team was singularly execrable ?
Pros
No longer work there.
Cons
Worked extremely hard for 30 years with nothing to show for it.
IBM was my first major job after graduated from college. Great place to work with great benefits. Lots of opportunity for advancement and I took advantage of it of course. The best place to be trained for your job. Great people to work with and flexible hours to work.
Over all this was the best company I ever worked for.
Pros
Greatest place to work
Cons
Nothing
What happened to "Respect for the individual" under Watson Sr.? Working hard and doing a good job does not mean much these days in IBM.
Pros
well, i need to think about that one...
Cons
reduced benefits over the years, not much in the way of raises.
Thoroughly enjoyed working at company. Left to go to Motorola as company was in a downsizing mode
