Its took 3 months, 1 i applied did the interview and assessment. I submitted a backgroung check consent form and checks were conducted. Second month it was quite and on the 3rd month i did a follow up to my suprise that my application was unsuccessful.

Yes they do background checks as it is after all a financial institution.They do credit and criminal checks. It takes about a week for them to get back to you.
