Too many sales calls

They offer a lot of training and a lot of support but still the targets are too high, for you to make a reasonable commission you must work late almost everyday day

A stressful environment to work at

Their commission structure changes from time to time. You never know how much is going to be.They prefer paying people through competitions rather than commission. Managers never wants to approve leave yet they take leave for days.

It was stressful. It was stressful working as a financial advisor. The targets were unreachable at times. Management can be on your neck pushing you everyday.

Working at Old Mutual is a great experience. The problem I experienced was being limited to service employees earning R15000 and above. I resigned because if I don't meet target I don't earn anything for that month

Exciting working environment

The job gave me a good experience of working with people, it also gave me a platform to face my challenges head on. My colleagues and manager made it easy for me to adjust to the environment. It was a great pleasure working for the old mutual company.

Very similar to the Nedbank branches

Had a mixture of traditional banking as well as financial planning environment through the PFA Old Mutual focus. Mostly established Nedbank staff working for this brand, as it was merely an extension of the Nedbank branch network. More a culture of the old Permanent Bank that was taken over by Nedbank.

Positive environment

A very positive environment to work in. Learned how to do decent cold calling, and maintaining good relations with customers. Management know what they are doing. Co-workers are all very helpful Hardest part is balancing time, between sorting admin and seeing clients

Productive and nice to work with clients.

Start the day see if all requiremente for the previous day has been met, and get all outstandings. Go throug diary and see clients accordingly. Everyday you learn that clients needs are increased, and you have to manage new clients and the old clients so that they all can be on the same level. The hardest part of the job is to get new bussiness and the most enjoyable part is when something happend and the promise paid out as promised.

To grow and expand the knowledge and skills in the industry

I am currently selling insurance, and I have learned that you need to sell features and benefits of your product. And my co-workers believe I am good presenter and also good on closing business. The hardest part of my work is competition that is growing every day in insurance industry, most enjoyable part is when people buy my product, and most when they show buying signal while I am presenting

Excellent Company to work for

The typical day at work is to recruit and manage advisers for my company. Further to this, rendering financial advice and services to customers is very fulfilling, but in the same breath difficult and challenging. (which I like !) I work with very professional people and in a very professional environment with great support structures.
