unrealistic targets

its a very stressful role and demands so much. the company sets unrealistic targets yet fail increase bonus payouts. the bonus structure is forever changing.

Exploitation and deception

Empty promises. Very little support and mentorship. Everyday it’s threats, warnings and meeting targets. You actually start off on a learnership until you’re permanently employed. But they don’t disclose that. There’s no guarantee you’ll be permanent. People quit every week. You can go months with no pay. False promises you’ll never earn 100 000 per month from that job

Exploitation

Working hours are just outrageous imagine working from 7:30 am to 17:00 pm sometimes more than that🤢🤢. When it comes to rewards, what we are being paid as a basic and commission is just not good at all for the pressure we are being put under, should be investigated. There's always reminders from management that they can easily fire you.,,,,,so yeah the list is just endless.

Rewarding to those willing to risk it all

Work Culture is not the best very lonely working environment but very rewarding if you stay with the company for more than 2 years. Can go months without pay if you don't have a business plan to get in business.

Great Company

Good company with room for growth and great management to help you grow and great work environment and good competition. A lot of role models in any role you in. Good working hours with good salary as soon as you permanent.

Pressure

Commission based only top management gets basic salaries and commissions based on the weekly performance of "aspiring financial advisors" lack emphaty still very much divided in terms of ethnic groups

Toxic environment

Worst career move I’ve ever made. I regret coming to this company. Micro management, managers treat staff badly. I don’t recommend. Long hours with no acknowledgement. Being 5 minutes late is a big deal but staying until 7pm is recommended and makes you a “hard worker” no work-life balance. You’re on your own.

Unfair policies

Good luck. They claw you back for clients not paying premiums, you are pushed to sell regardless of customer needs. It is predatory and toxic. Management has no backbone.

Competitive and fun environment

It is a very nice and friendly space to work in. Chasing targets and improving your skills daily, it keeps you driven and focused. Very friendly team and management to offer support and guidance.

I really enjoy to work for the company Old Mutual In sure.

It is great to work for Old Mutual Insurance Company. I have learned a lot and build a lot of experience up for myself. The management is friendly and give me the opportunity to improve my hard work in skills. The workplace culture we were treated equally there was no colour favorites. The hardest part of the job is to work hard and go the extra mile to improve yourself. The enjoyable part of the job is you meet a lot of new clients and you enjoy to work with your colleagues

Stressful

There is no support from management except for applying pressure. They want 10 written policies a week, 2 or 3 daily submissions otherwise you report at 7h30 to account why you couldn’t submit 2 lives . Management threatens staff.

Productive workplace

Good company but no career growth. OM is a global company so expect loads of work. The management is neutral, just have tough skin. Just work hard & know why you're here then you won't have any issues.

Stressful

Stressful work environment. The pressure is not realistic,exoecting employees to have 3clients a day. Abusive in meetings,threatening ur job. You have no social life,always anxious and stressed. Many resign each day. The company doesn't care to investigate why. U are forced to resign for ur own sanity or ul forever be on sick leave.

Challenging and fun

Old Mutual is a very good company and they take good care of their employees. The problem is hiring employees who lacks management skills.Managers at old mutual dont know how to manage employees.There is no pyramid reporting within management. Employees leave the company because of incompetent and rude managers.
