Parmalat entered the African continent in 1998. The company’s roots go back to Italy, where the founder named it after its place of origin, Parma, and added to it the Italian name for milk, latte.


Parmalat is now operational in 15 countries worldwide. The South African operation is a wholly owned subsidiary of Parmalat SpA in Italy.
