The unpacking of new stock daily is hectic and it needs a healthy person with a strong mind. But they do promote their workers who are eager to learn more about their company. Some workers start to work as a casual worker and end up being the store manager, stock controller with decent salary. That is what we call it growth
No free lunch but free tea and sugar
You have to be a hard worker and be prepared to work extra long hours.Pep is a low cost company so everything that should be paid has to be in line with that philosophy. The company has got a great culture, you feel at home the moment you start working there.
Pep has a good culture called Sikhula kunye means we are growing together... I worked for pep stores for 8 years and I enjoyed every year If you are a hard worker you get lot of opportunities for instead relieving different stores
Making sales and getting insensitives
No recognition from area manager, favouritizim among managers by area manager, culture good in stores but at the headoffice they ways back their area managers....incentives based on monthly target made. Merchandising unit being sent with boxes, staff have to use new fixtures themselves......top management less visits the stores which makes Dynamos question how important or their effort is f thy nt getting any visits,
Good working environment

Benefits of company
Long hours and stressful situation includes being threatened when people steal
Pep was a great company to work for, the best I've ever worked in. The culture and the honesty passion and resourcefulness that was always instilled in us will always remain in my mind. I learned that growing together is the best way to grow a business; coaching the team and giving opportunities for better positions. Putting up with the pressure was the hardest part of the job, but after sometime I realised how well I worked under pressure. I managed to reduce stock losses in my store and sales increased at a very high rate.
Lots of training
a typical day at work is during payout week, you must be ready and prepared to work with many different customers. the store must also be ready as it will be serving many customers around that time of the month. i have learned not to be judgemental but to treat all customers with dignity and respect. Leading by example matters most because if you respect your staff they will do the same to you and the customers also. Culture makes a team to be strong because we will feel all important and that we belong to the same family. The most enjoyable part is customer service, interacting with customers makes me learn more about them and their different behaviours
making monthly budget means money in the teams pockets
not a problem if it is beneficial. mostly during stock takes
I have learned a lot with Pep i was a manager of Pep Stores in Karaglen , its excellent to work for them very good opportunities, i must say i have learned a lot with Pep its excellent experience that i have.
This was a wonderful company to work to.I was working 45 hours per week which was reasonable. The most exiting times is when was the time for conventios because it was where every one was rewarded for their hard work throwout the year. Most stressful times was when the customers need something and you don't have, but because of I was working with most resourceful management, they will make sure that at the end of the day the customers got what they want. What I like most about this company is that they listen to their employees which is their key to success. It was hard to leave this company but the reason for leaving is just that I need new challenge and learn something to other companies or factories,. Thanks to Pep for giving me opportunity to learn how work with people
We were getting free tea goodies
45 hours per week
