Work is good and the environment is workable. Management is friendly and dedicated to their duties. The only thing I am not happy about is remuneration...... It's not enough
Pros
Free tea and bread
Cons
Short hours
.When i don't get my work done, I've learned that customer comes first, management is helpful when you willing to learn, we respect each other old or your, is to pull straight while the customers are still doing their shopping, when I'm done on time and everything is up to closing standards.

My experience at Pick n Pay was Excited at first but got into it and never felt comfortable like I belong there. My passion is more about working on Microsoft Office and capturing data.
during my work time there i learned the importance of good customer relationship in business and putting the needs of customers first, and this really contributed a lot on my current studies .working there I got to make friends and the culture was fun. the hardest part of job is working many hours , and the fact that we are forced to wear festive attire for example christmas attire where else is agaist my religion to celebrate or wear those things.the joyful part of it is emplooyee celebrations.
It was nice working at pick n pay even though the salary was not enough but at least I was not spending a lot on transport because I was staying local
We want to help you find great companies. Help us be the best!
Do these reviews help you learn more about working at Pick n Pay?
I am very loyal ,trustworthy and I love working hard.I am desperate to do any kind of job just to support my family. Working at pick n pay was very nice the manager was vey friendly
I would recommend anyone to work there because of the benefits and the working enviroment and team work that you get if you are also a team player....
All you need to know is that for any type of work or job has it right and employer's must be far on giving workers salary in time
Respect is the most important thing in your work .
I enjoyed working at pick n pay.The job was easy. Most of the stuff members were working in good relationship. The managers were good and they were working worker in good relation.
It is nice to work with people and helping others with their groceries...And it feels okay to help others and working all day to keep you busy..unlike staying at home and ending up stealing
The relationship between employees and supervisors is toxic. Agency placed employees get ill-treatment and less preference over permanent ones. Salaries are low to afford only the basic needs
I was working at Fruit and Veg section, when I start, I'd check what needs to be replenished, clean the environment... I learnt customer care services as I was dealing with customers everyday, met new people and mad friends. Management was alright and understanding, I always asked for late shifts (anytime from 9am till the store closes since transport was bad for me so supervisor/s complied). The hardest was when I had to get in the fridge that fridge was cold and I had a jacket which was always at work apart from the fridge part, I enjoyed everyday at my PnP.
Pros
Double pay on Public Holidays
I learnt a lot while I was working part time in Pick n Pay. Some of the things I learnt are being organized, friendly and being able to communicate with people.
You learn people skills ,flexibility, how to resolve disputes, you get to learn more about all other departments. They provide training and you get a 3weeks paid leave once you are permanent.
